October 19, 2018Halloween is almost here! Looking for fun activities with the family or friends? This week, we are breaking down all of the Halloween events happening in North Jersey for you so you can start getting your costumes ready:
South Orange Halloween Festival
When: October 31st from 4 pm – 6 pm
Where: Spiotta Park in South Orange, NJ

Entertainment includes Wanda the Witch on stilts to play Halloween games with the kids and students from SHU’s Colleges Against Cancer will be hosting their Creepy Corner. There will also be a costume contest in which every entrant receives a gift and the winners in each category get prizes from the local merchants of South Orange! The evening concludes with trick-or-treating around town. This is a free event.
Safe Howl-O-Ween
When: October 31st from 4 pm – 8 pm
Where: Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange, NJ

Go trick-or-treating at the zoo! There will be candy stations, stilt walkers and shows going on so feel free to wear your Halloween costumes. $3 Zoological Society Current Members. $5 General Admission *all attendees must purchase a ticket.

Bane Haunted House

The largest, most terrifying and only full-contact haunted house in New Jersey. Bane Haunted House was named “The Scariest Haunted House in New Jersey” by The Star-Ledger 5 years in a row and listed as one of the most terrifying in the nation by Buzzfeed. Visitors may have to climb up, jump over, crawl through, and spin around what lurks inside the haunted house for a spine-chilling, interactive experience. They are the only haunted house in the state that does not use animatronics. They have 100+ live actors prepared to scare you within their 40,000 square foot building every night! General admission is $28 per person and VIP admission is $48 per person.
13th Hour Haunted Houses

13th Hour features 3 different haunted houses to choose from: The House of Nightmares, The Attic, and The Darkside of the Hayden House that include live actors and animatronics. Prices range from $28 per person to $60 per person depending on the attraction and packages.
Brite Nites Haunted House at Wagner Farm Arboretum

This event contains an elaborate display of intricately and creatively hand-carved and lighted pumpkins, a brand-new “Barn of Fear”, food trucks, and hot beverages. Ticket price includes Pumpkin Path & The Barn of Fear. $15 per Adult (ages 13-64); $10 Senior (ages 65+); $10 Child (ages 4 to12); Age 3 and under are free. All entrants need a ticket. Limited quantity of tickets may be purchased at the gate.
