February 1, 2019As we’ve mentioned before, our founder Joseph Shamah, purchased his first property on East 29th Street in Brooklyn over 30 years ago. That’s several decades of history with one of our favorite boroughs. Brooklyn has always had neighborhoods and local spots that are unique, but we have been in awe of all the exciting things happening. Here are some of our favorite fun facts about Brooklyn:
A place to enjoy the arts…
Brooklyn is home of the world-renowned Brooklyn Academy of Music (including an opera house that seats over 2,000), the Brooklyn Philarmonic and the Brooklyn Museum (which holds the second largest public art collection in the United States).
Somewhere to learn…
There are more than 15 colleges in Brooklyn’s borough! Whether you’re interested in nursing, engineering, design, law or something else – there are plenty of options to choose from!
Abundant with sports history…
Currently, the home of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and the NHL’s New York Islanders, plus, several famous sports figures such as Joe Paterno, Vince Lombardi & Joe Torre have also called Brooklyn home.
Rich with culinary variety…
Between established family-owned spots like Michael’s of Brooklyn and newer sensations like Oxalis (not far from some of our buildings!), you won’t be without options for grabbing a bite in Brooklyn.
