May 26, 2017Recently, there were several proposed projects in District 40 that received funding. The winning projects range from planting trees to air conditioning and technology upgrades. Below is a brief description of the projects that were funded:
New Play Yard for Ditmas Park (Parks & Recreation)
Proposed: Renovations to the cracked asphalt lot to create a safer and more engaging public space for families.
Trees for Rogers Avenue (Environment)
Proposed: Planting more trees along the bus route to help facilitate cleaner air and keep the street cooler during the summer heat.
Technology Upgrades (Education)
Proposed: Provision of a teacher resource station, computer(s) and equipment to improve learning for diverse students.
A.C. for High Needs Schools (Education)
Proposed: Installation of air conditioning in 46 rooms at two Title I schools to enable an environment where students and teachers can focus on learning.
