As we continue to showcase our tenants’ talents, we invite those who would like to be featured to submit a piece for consideration! We welcome writing submissions from any and all of our tenants and will periodically select a piece to publish here on the blog. If you have any questions or would like to submit a piece to be published on the blog, please reach out to us at: info@shamcomanagement.com.
As was our first piece for the Tenant Poets Corner, this second installment has been generously provided by Ms. Georgia Thornton.
Dogged ambition nips fierce at my heels —
vexing my somewhat lackadaisical soul;
into complete submission.
I cannot rest with what I feel — work I must
until in passionate words I yield —
the innermost me.
If you shall read this particular aspiration;
in print, and bound, and bearing my name —
then smile and know that I now walk straight,
I can look into a stranger’s face and feel not
a bit a shame,
for I have pursued many avenues, from heaven
to here on mortal earth;
transgressors have tried to devour me,
yet despite deceitful mirth;
my soul is ever steadfast in thee.
